Theo's Magic Hands Soothe Away Achy Muscles at the London Marathon.
Sutton Complementary Health Network member Theo Theodoris fulfilled a long held ambition to take part in the London Marathon - but not as a runner! Theo helped Marie Curie Cancer Care as a volunteer providing massage therapy for some of their 200+ runners when they completed the challenge. The Marie Curie runners were escorted back to the Thistle Hotel at Charing Cross, where they were treated to showers, leg massage and refreshments. Theo massaged over 30 pairs of legs over an afternoon. "There were quite a few tight ham strings, calves and people with cramp," he commented afterwards. "It was a great atmosphere and everyone was in very good spirits and very appreciative of their massage."
Kathryn Betts, Marie Curie Cancer Care Events Organiser said, "Theo Theodoris was brilliant, before the runners left, they asked me to make sure I passed on their thanks for their wonderful massage and care given, especially the ones suffering from cramp. I would also like to give Theo a special thank you for giving his time and expertise voluntarily. All the runners will have raised around £200,000."
